The Friendship Fire Company of Bressler is one of five fire companies
in Swatara Township. Which is located in central Dauphin County,
Pennsylvania. Swatara township is about 17 square miles with about
25,000 residents. Bressler is located in the far corner and is only
about a half-mile wide by a mile long. Which is mainly all residential.
We average about 400 calls a year covering our township and also
many neighboring boroughs and townships. |

BRESSLER,SWATARA TWP.
On a snowy Saturday afternoon, Station 41 Crew helped Santa visit the children in Bressler to get last minute Christmas request. As the snow fell, the kids got to visit Santa and receive a special treat.

DECEMBER 2,2009 (BOX 41)
BRESSLER,SWATARA TWP.
While the air unit was on a mutual aid (59 box) structure fire the Engine was dispatched to main and locust streets for a two car vehicle accident. There were no major injuries but the utilities were notified for a broken pole.

NOVEMBER 15,2009 (BOX 49)
OBERLIN,SWATARA TWP.
Around noon E41 was dispatched to assist Co. 49 and R44 with a vehicle accident with entrapment. E41 crew helped with extrication and patient removal from the SUV. part of the crew manned a hose line.

OCTOBER 17,2009 (BOX 456)
CHAMBERS HILL,SWATARA TWP.
Swatara township units along with T50 & R40 were dispatched to a working fire on the Apt's on Stacy Dr. Upon arrival crew had heavy fire venting from a third floor apt. Air 41 crew assisted with the interior attack. A good knock down contained the fire. Engine 41 was given the assignment to supply engine 456.

JUNE 30,2009 (BOX 45-6)
RUTHERFORD,SWATARA TWP.
A working fire was dispatched at 2:47pm at Murphy's Home Center on Bridge road. The storage building was well involved upon fire dept. arrival. Crews went into defensive mode and also tried to protected the exposures which were already involved. A41 staged on 322 and the crew went to work in the exposure on side B.

MAY 8,2009 (BOX 49)
SWATARA TWP.
E41 arrived at a routine engine compartment fire which quickly changed. A line was stretched and crews worked to open the hood. A hood shock exploded and impaled FF M. Ofak in the right knee. EMS treated and transported him to Hershey Med. Trauma room where he was treated and spent the night. He luckily escaped without major injuries from the incident and is expected to make a full recovery. We all wish you a quick recovery. |

APRIL 7, 2009 (BOX 40)
PAXTANG BORO.
A working fire was dispatched on Paxtang Ave. First in crews found heavy fire on the B - C corner on the second floor. Air 41 staged and filled air cylinders, while the crew advanced a line into the exposure building. The air unit remained on scene for a few hour helping with mop up.

APRIL 5 2009 (BOX 88)
MIDDLETOWN BORO.
Air was dispatched to the borough to assist on a working fire on wilson street. A41 crew assisted with overhaul on the first floor while the rest of the crew filled air cylinders. We remained on scene about an hour. |
